Description:
Beautiful view of the Newport Bridge. Exposed to the North East, but good holding in 15 to 30 ft of water with sand/mud bottom. I've ridden out a severe thunderstorm here with no problem. At times there can be a slight odor from the treatment plant to the south. There can also be watersport activities during the day (waterskiing, etc) but it quiets down at night.
DISCLAIMER: Before committing to an anchorage, you should confirm that the location is not governed by a regulation that may conflict with your plans. An increasing number of states and municipalities are enacting laws that define where and how long you may anchor.

We've anchored here numerous times. It can be a bit busy with the day cruisers but quiet overnight. Great protection from the SW. We like to motor up close in about 12-15' of water and drop anchor there in the bight. The Newport Bridge is lit up at night and makes a nice scenic backdrop.
