Waves and wind were constant and strong. Boat wakes from ferries and other traffic forced us to remain locked down as if we were on a long passage. Holding is good and we bit on the first try after a little dragging. We watched other boats experience the same. There is an excellent break water you can secure your dinghy at when going to shore. The waterfront amenities are cruise ship typical. Stores we needed were far enough away we took a cab. Over two days it cost 100 euros. But with the confusing street layouts and not speaking or reading French it was the correct choice for us. Stores carry good selection on par with any shops in the USA. No services. Now for the worst... Every time a cruise ship comes into or leaves port the prop wash spins all the boat in different directions regardless of wind and current. Be on board and stay alert to protect your boat and others from accidental contact at those times. If it wasn't for access to provisions, I would not bother.
