Mill Lake - Unnamed Island

Description:
Tucked in behind the little island, there is good protection from winds out of the south and the steep hills to the west provide excellent protection from winds from the west. Western winds were forecast in the 20 to 30 knot range. The trees on the top of the hills to the were moving like crazy but there was only a slight breeze in the anchorage. Be mindful of the shallow area to the east of the anchorage.

We could not set the anchor at the marked spot despite multiple attempts. We tucked in the curve of the un-named island just before the marked anchorage in about 10 ft and had good holding despite a windy day. Anchor came up with reassuring mud. Buddy boat easily anchored at the small bight along the shore at the level of the marked anchorage.

Lovely spot and a great place to anchor going through Collins Inlet.
