Current is minimal. Entrance to Mackey Creek from Port Royal Sound was 5 feet at low tide. Very quiet and scenic anchorage with just a few passing boats. We were happy to get away from the ICW on Saturday so this anchorage fit the bill. We arrived at around 5 pm and some small boats were anchored here but left before 6 PM. If you are coming from the South there is a bridge so would you not be able enter/leave that way for sail boats. April 6 2021 Make sure to not anchor in the channel inside Red 8. Dolphins and other wild life around. Quite at night so we anchored here. So glad we did. Good holding and anchor came up pretty clean.
