- Description:
Pitman Cove, or simply "The Cove" is a narrow bay that is in Gregory Town.
The anchorage is well protected from all directions except southwest and offers good holding, but it is very narrow and crowded with private mooring balls. One can anchor outside of the moorings in +15' of water or they can anchor on the inside of the moorings in 6'-8' of water. The holding is good but swinging room is limited. You can go ashore by tying to the sea wall at the end of the bay, or at the small dock on the NE corner.
DISCLAIMER: Before committing to an anchorage, you should confirm that the location is not governed by a regulation that may conflict with your plans. An increasing number of states and municipalities are enacting laws that define where and how long you may anchor.
