Big Fish Cay South
- Location: Abaco
- Lat / Lon: N 27° 02.708' / W 077° 50.192'
- Depth: 8'-10'
- Tide: 2.0'-2.5'
- Description:
Anchor in front of the large, two-story house in 8-10’ of water, taking care to avoid the bands of heavy grass that run parallel to the shore. The island is private but there are few signs of life. If you have a pet that needs to go ashore, there is a small beach on the east end of the island that is accessible by dinghy only. For those wanting to fish or dive in shallower waters, the cut between Big Fish Cay and Little Fish Cay offers some excellent opportunities but you will have to contend with the current. If the tide is running, the current can be very strong so a drift dive is recommended.
DISCLAIMER: Before committing to an anchorage, you should confirm that the location is not governed by a regulation that may conflict with your plans. An increasing number of states and municipalities are enacting laws that define where and how long you may anchor.
