Bird Cay
- Location: Berry Islands
- Lat / Lon: N 25° 24.269' / W 077° 49.768'
- Depth: 7'-10'
- Tide: 2.5'-3.0'
- Description:
There is an expanse of water between the north shore of Bird Cay and a drying sandbar that lies between it and Frasers Hog Cay. There is good protection for winds from the east but this anchorage becomes a boiling cauldron of foam if the winds shift into the south. If south winds are expected or even more than remotely possible, you are much better off to move to Frazers Hog Cay or leave the area entirely.
DISCLAIMER: Before committing to an anchorage, you should confirm that the location is not governed by a regulation that may conflict with your plans. An increasing number of states and municipalities are enacting laws that define where and how long you may anchor.
