Great Abaco - Bridges Cay North

  • Lat / Lon: N 26° 21.732' / W 076° 59.707'
  • Depth: 6+
  • Description:

Anchor anywhere along the shoreline of Great Abaco or Bridges Cay for protection from Westerly component winds. This is a great place to stage for an exit through Little Harbour Cut. There may be a bit of swell coming in from the Atlantic either from the south or east, but it wasn't too bad even with large easterly waves from days of northerlies in the 20s-40s. There's a small beach directly west of the anchorage mark where you can land a dinghy to stretch your legs or your dogs legs. BTC cell service is 2 bars. No WiFi. The anchor set quickly in what appeared to be deep sand. It was 2.8-3 meters about 2 hours after high tide where the anchor mark is. It's a 2.25NM dinghy ride to Little Harbour and Pete's Pub.

DISCLAIMER: Before committing to an anchorage, you should confirm that the location is not governed by a regulation that may conflict with your plans. An increasing number of states and municipalities are enacting laws that define where and how long you may anchor.
