South Benjamin Island (West)
- Location: North Channel
- Lat / Lon: N 46° 05.083' / W 082° 15.518'
- Description:
We stayed here one night in early August of 2022. This is a very pretty and very popular anchorage. There were a dozen boats anchored with us that night with room for a few more if they had adequate rode due to water depth. We dropped hook with our buddy boat as far back in the bay as we could go in 8 feet of water. Good claylike mud grabbed quickly and held firmly. It took some effort to get the heavy mud off the rode and anchor in the morning. We did have 1 bar of cell service on Verizon. Lots of places to go ashore and walk around the beautiful rocks.
DISCLAIMER: Before committing to an anchorage, you should confirm that the location is not governed by a regulation that may conflict with your plans. An increasing number of states and municipalities are enacting laws that define where and how long you may anchor.
