- Depth: 7 feet
- Description:
This is just one of many places to anchor in Mill Lake. We stayed one night in late July of 2022. A total of nine boats were at anchor in the lake that night, all widely spread out. We could only see three of them from where we anchored and they were 300 yards to a quarter mile away. We anchored in 10 feet of water and our 44 lb. Rocna bit well on the first try. There are lots of places suitable for anchoring so pick a spot based on the wind forecast. Be sure and check the forecast before arriving as there was zero cell service. The anchor had a few weeds the next morning but nothing problematic. Lots of places to take dogs ashore. We only saw one cottage on the lake and that was on the island at the far south end near where we anchored. Wakes from fishermen were few and not obnoxious. A gorgeous sunset and a splendid dawn. This is a 5-star anchorage if you can get along without cell service for a night (perhaps we should all do so from time to time).
DISCLAIMER: Before committing to an anchorage, you should confirm that the location is not governed by a regulation that may conflict with your plans. An increasing number of states and municipalities are enacting laws that define where and how long you may anchor.
