State Line Island Anchorage

  • Location: Tennessee River
  • Mile Marker: 213 RDB
  • Lat / Lon: N 35° 00.666' / W 088° 11.293'
  • Depth: 10 feet
  • Description:

Leave the channel at mile marker 215.2 and head towards RDB. Turn north in the charted channel on the east side of State Line Island. Move one mile north in a minimum of 18 feet (414 pool) and turn in towards the island in the notch. Anchor in 10 – 12 feet of water in good mud with protection from wind and waves from the south around to north. Protection from the NE to the SE is minimal and during the day there is plenty of water activity going by in the water thruway that runs up the east side of the island. There is no development on the island or on the visible shoreline. The anchorage was quiet at night. Cellular coverage is fair for Verizon and poor for AT&T and T-Mobile. No shore access. Anchorage is an easy off easy on for those turning into the Tenn-Tom Waterway.

DISCLAIMER: Before committing to an anchorage, you should confirm that the location is not governed by a regulation that may conflict with your plans. An increasing number of states and municipalities are enacting laws that define where and how long you may anchor.
