- Description: Cayo Blanco is the destination for the large fleet of catamarans that operate out of Marina Gaviota. Most of the activity is at the north end of the cayo and the best anchorage is on the south end. At 3:00 p.m. the catamarans go home and all that remain are a few caretakers that stay in the small cabins behind the beach area. For this reason, we always recommend going to Cayo Blanco later in the day, unless your plan is to join in with the beach crowd and to share the anchorage with the catamaran fleet. See Waterway Guide Cuba for details on navigation and approaches.
DISCLAIMER: Before committing to an anchorage, you should confirm that the location is not governed by a regulation that may conflict with your plans. An increasing number of states and municipalities are enacting laws that define where and how long you may anchor.
