New Bight

New Bight is the northern half of the bay and is the community that is closest to Mount Alvernia the highest point in the Bahamas and home of the iconic Hermitage Church.
The anchorage area is along the shoreline between the fish fry village and the government dock that is in front of the BTC cell tower. While it is possible to anchor anywhere along the shore of the Bight there are few public access points for those wishing to go ashore except in this area.
The road to Mount Alvernia is directly across the road from the government dock, as are the police station, the local government office and the BTC office.
