- Description:
The center portion of the west side of Bonds Cay is a sweeping arc of shoreline defining a wide bay that is dotted with a few small beaches. At the north end of the bay there is a nearly drying sandbar that prevents vessels drawing over 4’ from accessing the cut between Bonds Cay and Alder’s Cay to the north. On the south end of the bay, the Bonds Bank extends westward to Sand Cay and blocks southward travel except for a narrow channel along the shore of Bonds Cay. There are patches of heavy grass in the bay that should be avoided when setting anchor, but otherwise you may anchor anywhere within the bay.
DISCLAIMER: Before committing to an anchorage, you should confirm that the location is not governed by a regulation that may conflict with your plans. An increasing number of states and municipalities are enacting laws that define where and how long you may anchor.
