High Cay

  • Location: Berry Islands
  • Lat / Lon: N 25° 32.674' / W 077° 43.218'
  • Depth: 8'-10'
  • Tide: 2.5'-3.0'
  • Description:

High Cay is a private island and going ashore is not permitted. In prevailing east and southeasterly winds, the Cay provides reasonable shelter although one should expect a swell even in the calmest of conditions. The greatest attribute for this anchorage is that it is next to the inlet so it can be used as a lunch stop for vessels operating outside of the barrier islands. For those sensitive to insects, this anchorage also seems to be free from biting insects.

DISCLAIMER: Before committing to an anchorage, you should confirm that the location is not governed by a regulation that may conflict with your plans. An increasing number of states and municipalities are enacting laws that define where and how long you may anchor.
